We are excited to begin offering an opportunity for monthly date nights to parents as a church. Volunteers get to enjoy the opportunity of helping foster healthy marriages while pouring into the hearts of our church’s littlest members. Below you’ll find some important info regarding how these date nights will work, expectations for both parents and volunteers, and upcoming event dates to add to your calendars.

ARRIVAL: Childcare is provided between 6p-9p on designated dates. Parents can drop off as they wish, but are expected to pick up their child(ren) no later than 9pm.

SIGN-IN: Parents will sign their kids in on a sign-in sheet giving names, ages, and both parents’ telephone numbers. Please divulge any pertinent information volunteers ought to know in order to care best for your child (potty training? In diapers? Brought your own snacks? Allergies?). There will be four volunteers available for childcare each month.

CARE AND PLAY: The nursery and fellowship hall are designated care areas. Infants/toddlers will be cared for in the nursery with a closed door, same as during church fellowship. At least two volunteers will be together to tend to children in this area at all times. Older children (school age, etc.) can expand to the fellowship hall, or—weather permitting and if parents are comfortable—in the back parking lot for activities such as chalk drawing, bubbles, outdoor games, etc. This is at the discretion of the volunteers if they would like to plan for these additional activities. Two volunteers MUST accompany kids to other designated play areas if the group wishes to separate for age-appropriate activities. Older kids may be entertained by a movie on the TV in the fellowship hall. Must be rated G/PG with good messaging and virtues. At the volunteers' discretion. Kids are welcome to bring their own forms of entertainment if parents feel this would be helpful.

SNACKS: Some simple snacks will be stocked in the fellowship kitchen for volunteers to distribute. A variety of options to cater to various ages will be provided. Please provide dinner to your child(ren) before drop-off. Feel free to bring your own snacks for your child if they/you have preferences. This can be communicated to the volunteers. If you do not wish for your child to have snacks, please communicate this to volunteers.

BATHROOM: Children will be accompanied to the bathroom by an adult volunteer if under the age of 5. Only female volunteers will accompany young children to the bathroom/assist as needed. For potty training and children in diapers, parents are asked to supply what their child may need.

VOLUNTEERING: Parents who wish to enjoy monthly date nights are asked to join the volunteer rotation. You can join at any time, but the intent is to share the load to avoid volunteer burnout. If you have not yet signed up, please contact Lisa Jackson (
